Our work is guided by a persistent objective: to design solutions which allow for the reduction of costs linked to product processing procedures, whilst fully respecting the individual properties of each type of fruit.

Although our core business is centred around innovative solutions for over 30 types of fresh fruit and vegetables, including kiwi, blueberries, citrus fruit and dates.

Kiwi

Ser.mac ensures the optimal inspection of kiwi quality: thanks to cutting-edge AI technology, we are able to detect internal and external defects, whilst preserving the fruit’s quality by handling it with care.

Dates

Ser.mac’s processing lines also provide accurate calibration for dates – a fruit which is notoriously difficult to detect due to its external properties. A single calibration system is able to weigh the varieties of dates which require a weight-based classification, in addition to identifying both the colour and quality of a date at the mighty speed of 10 f/s.

Blueberries

The exclusive AI technology designed, developed, and patented by Ser.mac inspects the entire surface area of every single blueberry, detecting issues and offering excellent results in terms of quality assessment.

Citrus fruits

Thanks to our computer vision system which was trained specifically for citrus fruits, we are able to offer market-based automatic quality selection tools, which gives customers the chance to enjoy premium quality.

ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE FOR FRUIT SELECTION

The new HDiA system (High Definition innovative Agrovision) is patented and developed entirely by Ser.mac.

It consists in an AI-based neural network which has better vision properties than the human eye, with the key advantage of being able to work incessantly and without drops in productivity.

Following the principles of Machine Learning, our technology is trained to detect and identify fruit defects, allowing for a selection process is based on selected criteria.

HDiA offers a high-definition analysis of the entire fruit and is able to detect even the subtlest of differences, thus ensuring the utmost quality of products in terms of weight, shape, and quality. Furthermore, it can reach 99% reliability for certain kinds of defects.

At Ser.mac, we strive to achieve the industrialisation of the entire processing process in order to guarantee high throughput volumes; we are aware, however, of the importance (in the context of current markets) of being able to handle a delicate product and keep its quality sound, so that consumers may enjoy a pleasant experience.
